Star Wars / M&M Mosaic Promo Set (SWMP-1)
The 19th rarest Lego “set” of all time, only 1/400 in existence. Valued at $3000-$4000, it was produced in 2005 for a Walmart promo called “48 Hours of the Force” to commemorate the release of Revenge of the Sith. At 30”x45”, it totals ~5,400 bricks (no parts list was confirmed and instructions only exist in physical format, which I do not have) The condition of this one in particular is 9/10, being ~99% complete. The backing is a bit blotched.
History and Origins
The Event: It was tied to the "48 Hours of Star Wars" promotional event held at Walmart stores on April 2–3, 2005, celebrating Episode III merchandise. [1]
The Crossover: A bizarre three-way collaboration between LEGO, Star Wars, and M&M's, featuring a giant brick-built mosaic graphic of a classic Walmart/Star Wars promotional sign design. [1]
Production Run: Only 400 units of this giant mosaic were ever made, and they were largely distributed to select store managers or event coordinators rather than being sold to the public. [1, 2]
Design and Build
Size: At the time, it was one of the largest LEGO Star Wars builds in existence, mounted on a custom plywood backing. [1, 2]
Construction: The baseplates and individual bricks were glued onto a supportive board with double-sided tape/adhesive to keep the massive sign intact as a display piece, and it included an oversized 10-inch custom LEGO logo sticker and massive laminated instruction sheets. [1, 2, 3]
Collectibility: Today, it is considered a holy grail for hardcore collectors, with complete units commanding thousands of dollars on the secondary market
